About A|I Legal Paraprofessionals NIL

A|I Legal Paraprofessionals is a trusted resource to the NIL ecosystem at large. Our team brings together higher education, collectives, coaches, athlete-focused stakeholders, and brand experience to deliver innovative, compliant, and business-focused solutions and educational support.

Our Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) practice draws upon our experience representing higher education institutions, collectives, brands, coaches, and athletes. Our team includes subject-matter experts who guide clients daily through complex and novel issues in the burgeoning NIL landscape.

Our approach begins with foundational knowledge and adherence to NCAA guidelines and to state and institutional policies governing NIL matters. We help clients navigate the complex patchwork of rules in the current landscape and continuously monitor activity at the federal, state, and institutional levels to stay up to date on developments in real time. While financial reward is often the primary incentive in an NIL arrangement, we provide thorough and forward-looking co-counsel to help ensure that other assets – such as a school’s standing or an athlete’s eligibility – are protected into the future.

Our team’s experience includes:

  • Forming and structuring collectives, including a collective for a SEC university’s football and basketball programs.
  • Group licensing deals, including with respect to trading cards.
  • Securing, protecting, and defending NIL and other indicia of persona assets for athletes, including on behalf of a Heisman Trophy and Super Bowl MVP Winner.
  • Creation and maintenance of trademark and copyright protection for athletes and coaches.
  • Negotiating marketing, licensing, and endorsement agreements on behalf of brands, coaches, and athletes, including with respect to apparel and media rights.
  • Advising higher education institutions on NCAA compliance to ensure athlete integrity and eligibility.
  • Representing coaches and athletes in their estate planning and asset protection needs.

Working with our team, you can be assured of a high level of service, skill, thoroughness, and preparation, with the additional advantage of protected client confidentiality.

AI Legal Paraprofessionals NIL is an autonomous, end-to-end case management service provider for College Athletes. Our practice focuses on all of our clients' legal rights. Our Mission is to empower Texas A&M College students-athletes through business development education and by helping them monetize their name, image, and likeness.

We are independent of Texas A&M University, but our founders and leadership include Texas A&M University alums, and we share its values. We are structured as a nonprofit, so donations are tax-deductible. We also operate an LLC arm that collaborates with other Aggie alums and allied organizations on compliant NIL education, brand-building, and business initiatives.

Our origins trace back to FCA—Fellowship of Christian Athletes—which has supported athletes since 1954, and we share a framework that enables athletes to steward both their influence and financial opportunities in ways that reflect their faith. By integrating the business realities of NIL with the call to honor Christ in all they do, athletes are positioned not only to succeed in the marketplace but to live out a witness of Christian character, integrity, and service in the broader athletic community.

Our Leadership: Led by Rickey Alexander—an Olympian and alumnus of Texas A&M University and Texas A&M University School of Law (Class of 2023)—who is also recognized as an “86 12th Man” and letterman for Texas A&M.

Rick Alexander

Director of NIL Compliance
I’m a systems-and-controls leader specializing in NIL contracts/compliance and litigation support, with a core focus on defensible documentation and execution. I build repeatable, auditable processes—templates, checklists, playbooks, and decision frameworks—that reduce risk and increase consistency. In NIL, I structure agreements to be clear, enforceable, and compliance-ready: deliverables, content-use rights, exclusivity, approvals, payment terms, cancellation remedies, and documentation aligned with fair-market value and a valid business purpose. I drive accountability to closure so obligations are met on time and reputational risk stays contained. In litigation support, I organize complex matters into a defensible record: chronology and issue maps, exhibit control, preservation/holds, structured summaries, and precise written communications (requests, notices, declarations-style narratives where appropriate). My drafting is designed to align stakeholders, preserve the record, and withstand audit, dispute, or court review. Rooted in integrity and equity, I lead with standards, clarity, and follow-through. 3) Leadership philosophy paragraph (Root + Equity = Ethics) My leadership is rooted in integrity and operationalized through equity: clear standards applied consistently, with documentation that protects all parties. In NIL and compliance work, that means contracts that reflect a legitimate business purpose, are based on fair-market-value reasoning, and include precise terms that prevent ambiguity. In litigation support, it means disciplined record-building—timelines, exhibits, preservation, and written narratives that separate facts from conclusions. When Root and Equity are strong, Ethics becomes visible: transparent decision-making, consistent enforcement, and outcomes that can be defended on the merits.
