We are degreed paraprofessionals – trained above the paralegal level and below a licensed attorney (JD) – not licensed attorneys. A|I contracts with a State Bar of Texas-licensed attorney for matters that require legal advice or representation. NILCONNECT does not provide legal advice or create an attorney-client relationship; clients should consult their own legal counsel regarding the compliance status of any specific deal or arrangement.
Our NIL practice draws on direct experience working alongside higher education institutions, collectives, brands, coaches, and athletes. Our team includes subject-matter experts who guide clients through the fast-changing NIL landscape every day.
We start from NCAA guidelines and the current patchwork of state and institutional NIL policies, and we track developments at the federal, state, and institutional level so our guidance stays current. Financial reward is often the headline of an NIL deal, but we look past it-a documented, defensible deal structure protects an athlete’s eligibility and a school’s standing long after the check clears. We call this a deal’s Return on Compliance: the paper trail that keeps an arrangement from being unwound after the fact.

The company is independent of Texas A&M University – our CEO, Rick Alexander, is a proud Texas A&M alumnus personally committed to the University, and that commitment shapes the values we bring to this work, but it doesn’t narrow who NILCONNECT serves. Affiliation Disclosure: Apostles Creed Ministries is a nonprofit organization providing charitable and educational programming. A|I Legal Paraprofessionals NIL LLC is a separate for-profit company that provides NIL compliance, NIL business support, and consulting services. Both named entities maintain separate governance and operations.
Our Leadership
NILCONNECT is led by Rick Alexander – Founder, Chief NIL Strategist, GenAI Director, and CEO. Rick holds a Master of Jurisprudence from Texas A&M University School of Law and is a registered Texas Athlete Agent. He is a former Olympian, USFL athlete, and Texas A&M 12th Man letterman, and an SAG-AFTRA member with over a decade managing union labor law contracts. Rick reviews and approves NILCONNECT’s compliance-critical work in his compliance-review capacity as CEO-he is not a bar-licensed attorney. A|I contracts with a State Bar of Texas-licensed attorney for matters requiring legal advice or representation.
